Terms of service
These terms apply to anyone who uses Clocto ("Clocto", "we", "us"), the time tracking, project budgeting and billing app at clocto.app and its organization addresses (for example name.clocto.app). By signing in or using Clocto you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use Clocto for an organization, you agree for that organization too, and confirm you may do so.
1. The service
Clocto lets an organization's team log working time, see project budgets, prepare billing and run reports. Each organization has its own workspace. Every organization can sign in at app.clocto.app. We may improve, change or remove features over time; when a change takes away something an organization relies on, we will tell its administrators in advance where we reasonably can.
2. Accounts and organizations
- You sign in with your Google account (or, for test accounts, an email account). Keep your account secure and do not share it. You must be 16 or older to use Clocto.
- Anyone can create an organization. The person who creates it becomes its owner and is responsible for it, including who it adds. You join an existing organization only when its administrator adds you and you accept, or when you ask and an administrator approves.
- Add only people your organization works with, and set a company email domain only if it belongs to your organization.
- Your organization's administrators decide who has access, what role each person has, and which records each person can see or change. Your organization's owner and administrators are responsible for keeping that list correct, including removing people who leave.
- You are responsible for what you do in Clocto under your account, including the accuracy of the time you log and submit.
3. Acceptable use
Do not:
- use Clocto for anything unlawful, or to enter data you have no right to use;
- try to reach data or workspaces you were not given access to, or get around Clocto's access rules or security;
- interfere with the service, for example by overloading it, probing it for weaknesses without permission, or spreading malicious code;
- copy, resell or rebuild the service, except as the law allows;
- use Clocto, or any data it receives from Google, to create AI-generated images or media, including non-consensual intimate imagery. Clocto itself does not use Google APIs for any AI purpose.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts the service or other users at risk, and will tell the organization's administrators why.
4. Your data
- Your organization owns the records it and its team put into Clocto (time entries, projects, budgets, expenses, invoices). We do not claim ownership of them.
- You give us permission to store, process and show those records only as needed to run Clocto for your organization, as described in the privacy policy.
- Your organization can ask for an export of its records, and for their deletion when it stops using Clocto.
5. Google accounts and Google Calendar
Signing in uses your Google account. With your permission, Clocto reads your Google Calendar (read only) to show your meetings and suggest time entries; it never changes your calendar. You can remove that permission at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Clocto's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements; details are in the privacy policy. Your use of Google's services remains subject to Google's own terms.
6. Other services
Clocto runs on services from other companies (Supabase for the database and sign-in, Cloudflare for hosting, Google for sign-in, calendar and the organization's own Google Sheets). Organizations can also connect their own tools. We are not responsible for services we do not control, but we choose our providers carefully and limit what they receive.
7. Fees
Clocto is free during its beta. Paid plans may follow: we will tell each organization's administrators before they start, and nothing is charged without the organization agreeing. Any fees for Clocto are agreed separately in writing with each organization. Where no fee has been agreed, the service is provided without charge.
8. Availability
We work to keep Clocto available and your data safe, but we cannot promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error free. Planned maintenance that may interrupt work will be announced to administrators where we reasonably can. Billing and payroll figures produced with Clocto are based on the data your organization enters and its settings; check them before relying on them.
9. Ending use
An organization can stop using Clocto at any time. A person's access ends when their organization removes or deactivates them. We may end or suspend a workspace that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after telling its administrators where we reasonably can. When a workspace ends, its records are exported on request and deleted as described in the privacy policy.
10. Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, Clocto is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from the use of Clocto. Our total liability for any claim related to Clocto is limited to the fees the organization paid for Clocto in the twelve months before the claim, or, where no fees were paid, one hundred US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell organizations' administrators before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Clocto after that means accepting the updated terms.
